On June 1, 2025, my friend Randy and I embarked on a Maryland winery tour that took us to Big Cork Vineyards and Antietam Creek Vineyards. Along the way, we enjoyed beautiful countryside scenery, passed historic landmarks, and several charming small towns in Maryland.
Big Cork Vineyards is a popular winery located in Rohrersville, Maryland, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, near the Virginia border. Established in 2011, the vineyard sits on about 100 acres of scenic countryside, with panoramic views of rolling hills and mountains. Its location makes it an easy and rewarding day trip from Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, and central Maryland.
The winery features a spacious, modern tasting room with large windows overlooking the vineyards, as well as outdoor seating areas where guests can relax and enjoy the scenery. Live music, food trucks, and special events are often held on weekends, creating a welcoming and lively atmosphere.
